Aikido Yuishinkai Andover

Formally known as the Andover Aikido club, established more than 15 years ago, the Club has produced a number of excellent teachers over the years. Consequently, Andover is now blessed with several teachers and plenty of choice for where and when to practice and learn Aikido Yuishinkai.

Fyfield: The Aikido Centre in Fyfield is a dedicated Dojo and the Headquarters Dojo for the Aikido Yuishinkai Isshinkai Association. Classes can be attended there taught by the Chief Instructor of the Association, Denis Burke Sensei, 7th Dan Aikido Yuishinkai, on Monday and Thursday evenings from 19.00--21.00 Beginners are welcome and, following the recent reorganisation of clubs in the Andover region, the Fyfield Dojo has the exciting feel of a new club with small classes mainly attended by beginners and junior grades. An excellent opportunity to start with other beginners, learning from one of the most senior and experienced Aikido Yuishinkai teachers in Europe!

Other Aikido Yuishinkai Andover Clubs offer classes at venues around Andover and the surrounding area including the Depot, the Salto Gym Club, and D,N & S.

Beginners and Members have access to all Aikido Yuishinkai Andover classes wherever they might be held, and are encouraged to find a practice regime that fits comfortably with their lives and commitments. Members are issued with a free wallet and attendance cards, which are stamped by the class teacher after each class. These count towards grading.

Payment can be per-class, or ticket-cards for ten classes (valid for up to 6 months) can be purchased for specific classes at a reduced rate. Prices vary from class to class and club to club, however, at Fyfield, for classes with Denis Burke Sensei, the rate is £10 per 2 hour class or £80 for a 10 class ticket card.

Membership of the Isshinkai Association is a requirement after 3 classes to comply with National Governing Body guidelines, unless valid insurance through another BAB Aikido Association is held. Membership of the Isshinkai Association is £35 per annum if no reductions apply.
